Hy-Vee: Ziploc Update

I received this info about Ziploc at Hy-Vee. I am if wondering these prices and catalina work at the Topeka store also?

"The Ziploc storage bags are 2 for $1.00 that includes gallon and quart size and Ziploc storage containers are 99 cents each at the Hyvee in Lawrence on 6th street. Use $1.00 on 2 on storage bags to get them free PLUS it gives you a $2 catalina on every 3 you buy. or you can use $1.50 on 2 on the containers and get them for 24 cents a piece. No catalina on the containers just the storage bags. Coupons in 12-6 ss or 1-10 ss"

A few more things...

I read HERE about new Kraft printables... I believe there is a $1/1 Oscar Myer meat that will work the meat that is on sale for the MEga event!

I also head HERE about an Old El Paso Deal. I assume the catalina is working at Dillons because they are a Kroger affiliate but do this deal at your own risk! There is also a cellfire coupon for load. Just go here, load the current offers you want and then when you get to your account page click on current deals and there should be an Old El Paso coupon

And be sure to print your Robert's dairy coupons! There is a .55/milk coupon... anybody know if this makes it cheaper than Dillons regular price?

Chicken and Spinach Quiche

(Above picture: my first ever quiche!)

When I was at Dillons the other day I noticed they had Pillsbury pie crusts (2 ct. pkg.) marked down to .99/1 because of the expiration date. I bought 2 and used a .50/2 mf coupon that doubled and a .50/2 cellfire coupon to get these for only .25/pkg or only .13/crust! I had never made quiche before but came home and found this quick and easy recipe to try out and it was GOOD! Even the toddler ate it... after we called is "special pie" of course:)

Here are the ingredients and price break down for me: Serves 6
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese= .10 since I got 8 oz bags of Kraft cheese for only .20 last weekend!
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pastry shell=.13 (after MF coupons and a cellfire coupon)
  • 1 cup diced cooked chicken=$1 (I usually get my chicken for 1.99/lb. or less and 1 cup is about 1/2 pound)
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry=.99
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion=.10 maybe (I got onions for only .79/bag last week!)
  • 2 eggs=.20
  • 3/4 cup milk=.20
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise=.30
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt=pennies
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper=pennies
You can see the full recipe here with details on how to make it! Total for this quiche I spent roughly $2! This quiche serves 6 so that is only .34/serving!

New Cellfire Coupons!

Here are the newest cellfire coupons available for load TODAY! I always load them all in the event that something is randomly on sale. Like this weekend for example I found Pillsbury pie crusts marked at .99/1. I had a .50/2 MF coupon combined with a .50/2 cellfire coupon to get these for only .25/box!!!

My little boy turns 3 this week!!! I can't believe it has been 3 years already! So with the birthday this week isn't our typical week. Here is what I am shooting for on our $50/week budget:

Sunday: Spinach and Chicken quiche... YUM! I picked up pie crust for .25/2ct. package today so I thought I would give my 1st quiche a shot. It was great and I will post the recipe I used tomorrow:)
Monday: Red beans and rice (this didn't get made last week)
Tuesday: Skillet Lasagna, green beans
Wednesday: Pizza out for Seth's birthday!
Thursday: Dinner at Planet Sub. The company we have our life insurance through does "camp dinners" every so often and everyone gets $3 toward a meal. That meand my family gets $12 and you know i can make that go a long way:)
Friday: Pizza
Saturday: Your guess is as good as mine:)

See you tomorrow for the quiche recipe... I have took a picture because I was so proud:)
